2002 ACUNS/ASIL Summer Workshop on International Organization Studies:
Strategies for Sustainable Resource Development - Policy and Practice Event details:A call for applications to the 2002 ACUNS/ASIL Summer Workshop on International Organization Studies has been announced. The Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS) and the American Society of International Law (ASIL) are sponsoring the twelfth in a series of summer workshops to be held this year at the University of Namibia (UNAM), Windhoek, Namibia, from 11 August to 23 August 2002. The workshop will be focusing on policy and practical strategies for sustainable resource devlopment, and is designed specifically for international relations and law school faculty, advanced graduate students, post-doctoral scholars, lawyers and practitioners from policy circles and civil society. Renewable Energy: UK Government Policy and Industry Opportunities Event details:A one day conference that will bring together a panel of speakers from government and industry to provide a dynamic assessment of how the renewable energy market is developing. The focus will be on the UK Government's proposal to source 5% of their electricity needs from renewables by the end of 2003 increasing to 10% by 2010, in the process creating a £1 billion renewable energy market.
