Contents
Planet Earth is now home to
6 billion people. Meeting even the basic needs of this population requires
careful use of the planet’s natural resources, the basis of all life on
Earth. Exploiting these resources involves risks, rewards and responsibilities
that need to be recognized, understood and shared – the challenges of
sustainable development.
This exhibition features some
of the work undertaken by UNCTAD and co-operating partners in order to
address these challenges – using both the planet’s resources and the ingenuity
of its peoples to ensure that present and future generations are healthy,
wealthy, and wise.
