The joint seminar on the "Management of Mineral Wealth and the Role of
Mineral Wealth in Socio-economic Development", was organised by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

The seminar was held in Lusaka, Zambia, from the 13 to 15 August 2002.
