WORLD INVESTMENT REPORT 2006 - (pdf file)  This year´s World Investment Report focuses on the rise of foreign direct investment (FDI) by transnational corporations (TNCs) from developing and transition economies. The Report also presents the latest data on FDI and traces the global and regional trends of FDI and international production by TNCs. A substantial Statistical Annex is also included, with data on FDI flows and stock for more than 200 economies. The PDF version of WIR05 and the Statistical Annex are available in a CD-ROM. The 2nd  United Nations World Water Development Report: 'Water, a shared responsibility', 2006. The triennial UN World Water Development Report is a joint undertaking of 24 UN agencies comprising UN-Water in partnership with governments and other stakeholders, and coordinated by World Water Assessment Programme for development, capacity building and environment. It presents a comprehensive picture of freshwater resources in all regions and most countries of the world as it tracks progress towards the water-related targets of the UN Millennium Development Goals.     UNCTAD HANDBOOK OF STATISTICS 2005. (pdf file)The  Handbook provides a comprehensive collection of statistical data relevant to the analysis of international trade, investment and development, for individual countries and for economic and trade groupings. UNCTAD Handbook of Statistics 2001 - The UNCTAD Handbook contains data for tracking trends in world trade, the global economy and development. The Handbook’s statistical figures, based primarily on international and national sources, are a valuable tool for research, education and decision-making. Available in hardcopy, CD and online.

ICMM’s Annual Review 2006: Setting the standards to meet the challenge of sustainable development (online version), (pdf file) describes some of the highlights of the past year. The Mining Association of Canada (MAC) created the Kyoto Implementation Committee in January 2003.  The Mining Industry Task Force on Energy and the Kyoto Implementation Committee monitor government policies related to climate change. The Task Force on Energy also promotes improved energy efficiency per unit of production to enhance the mining industry's international competitiveness and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
