Distance Learning Courses
Centre for Energy, Petroleum & Mineral Law & Policy (CEPMLP), University of Dundee Author: Elizabeth Bastida The Mineral Law and Policy course documents below form two units that provide an introduction to the complete course offered through the CEPMLP. These introductory units refer to the fundamentals of mineral law and policy including its underlying technical, economic and political factors, as well as the basic concepts and instruments of mineral law. The aim of the complete course is to provide participants with an overview of the core concepts of mineral law as practised in a variety of jurisdictions, identifying the main instruments of mineral law and policy including mining codes and mineral agreements. This is accompanied by an overview of the contemporary evolution of mining legislation, mineral investment agreements, major actors and their legal and policy status. The MISHC offer a distance learning Graduate Certificate course designed for minerals industry professionals who wish to acquire an advanced level of expertise in the area of Risk Management. All courses are delivered via an Internet platform, supported by other learning methods as appropriate with some having 2 day off campus workshops.
