The MRF Latin America and the Caribbean is a sub-section of the Mineral Resources Forum (MRF) that focuses specifically on mineral resource and mining issues in the region. These issues may be related to development, social, environmental, small-scale mining, trade, foreign direct investment (FDI) as well as host of others.

Some of these issues are examined in further detail, and a global perspective, in other sections of the MRF.

The Mineral Policy Research Initiative (MPRI) website offers another extensive source of information on this region.

Central America and Caribbean

The MRF - Latin America and the Caribbean is presently managed by UNCTAD in Geneva, Switzerland.

Information in this section is provided by both the site manager and users and includes News items; Events such as conferences seminars, presentations and workshops; Documents; and Related Sites.


South America

A website developed by the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Peru with the assistance of UNCTAD.

Summarises a number of documents from the series 'Recursos Naturales e Infraestructura' which are also available for download.
