Conference on Freshwater
- Bonn, Germany 3-7 December 2001. - Conference objectives were to build
on freshwater-related objectives identified in Chapter 18 of Agenda 21.
The need for action was further emphasised in the United Nations Millennium
Declaration adopted in September 2000, where special attention was focused
on both, improving the availability of safe drinking water, as well as,
reducing the unsustainable use of water resources by developing regional,
national and local level water management strategies that promote equitable
access and adequate supplies. Information available includes presentations,
ministerial declaration and multi-stakeholder dialogue outcomes.
